Last month was probably one of the worst months I’ve had with my PMDD for a long time.

And if you followed me through it, you’ll know I wasn’t myself.

My motivation disappeared. My mood changed completely. Everything felt overwhelming and when I was in it, I genuinely couldn’t imagine feeling like “me” again.

Then my hormones shifted…and there I was.

Happy. Motivated. Positive. Full of energy again.

And THAT is the part I find so difficult about PMDD.

So this month I’ve decided I don’t just want to wait for it to hit me again.

I’ve got roughly two weeks before I would normally expect things to start changing, and I’m going to use those two weeks to really focus on the things I CAN control.

Not because I think I can magically cure PMDD with a salad and a dumbbell 😂

But because I want to know whether being more consistent with my nutrition, strength training, sleep, recovery and stress management can make any difference at all to how I cope when that phase arrives.

And I’m taking you along with me.

Over the next few weeks I’m going to share exactly what I’m doing, what I’m eating, how I’m training, what I’m changing and — most importantly — whether I actually notice a difference.

I’ll also be using my TerriAnn 123 app to keep my nutrition structured and Believe Fitness for the strength-training side of it, because those are already tools I have available to me — I just need to be more consistent at actually using them for MYSELF.

Today starts with something really simple:

I’m tracking how I feel NOW, while I feel good.

Mood.
Energy.
Sleep.
Training.
Hunger/cravings.
Stress.
Cycle day.

Because I want something to compare it with when my hormones start changing.

This isn’t me telling anyone how to treat PMDD.

It’s me saying: last month was awful, I don’t want to feel completely powerless waiting for the next one, so I’m going to learn more about my own body and see what happens.

DAY 1 starts today.

Who else lives their life feeling like two completely different versions of themselves depending on what week of the month it is? #pmdd #pmddawareness #hormones #pmddpeeps
