Anthropic just expanded the Claude lineup with Fable 5.1 and Mythos 5.1, and the most interesting part may be the combination of capability and efficiency.

Anthropic says Fable 5.1 delivers major gains in coding and research while costing roughly 25% less for typical workloads and as much as 45% less for highly agentic tasks.

It can identify software vulnerabilities, perform strongly on research benchmarks and even contributed to a higher resolution map of Venus.

Mythos 5.1 moves further into specialized territory, with expanded capabilities for vetted cybersecurity and life sciences researchers.

This is where the frontier model race is heading.

Not one general AI that does everything.

A growing family of increasingly capable models optimized for different kinds of work, with cost and efficiency becoming just as important as raw intelligence.
