🔎 Today’s Daily Sift: Crypto/Blockchain

 Crypto is learning the language of capital.

Bitcoin is holding near $78,000 after gaining roughly 24 percent in August, even as renewed US and Iran tensions push oil above $90 and markets price roughly a 60 percent chance of a September Fed hike. 

That resilience is the first signal.

The second is Strategy.

On August 31, the company disclosed the purchase of 4,603 Bitcoin for $369.7 million.

Strategy now owns 845,050 BTC.

But it also holds a $5.1 billion dollar reserve and $1.61 billion in additional cash liquidity. 

Bitcoin accumulation is becoming treasury management.

Then comes an even bigger structural shift.

Crypto projects have spent a record $640 million buying back their own tokens this year.

Hyperliquid and pump.fun account for nearly 90 percent of the total. 

Protocols are starting to behave like businesses.

Generate revenue.

Buy back supply.

Create economic value for holders.

But risk remains brutally crypto.

Cronos halted its blockchain after an estimated $75 million exploit targeting Tectonic.

The attacker appears to have manipulated a thin governance token and borrowed against the inflated collateral. 

The contracts did not need to fail.

The economics did.

Forward Hypothesis

The next crypto winners may not be the loudest networks.

They may be the ones with the strongest financial machinery.

Revenue. 

Liquidity.

Capital discipline.

Security.

Real value flowing back to holders.

Crypto spent years rejecting Wall Street.

Now it is selectively stealing its best ideas.
