@nickmcnutt dropped into a hanging face with serious exposure, and on his very first turn an avalanche triggered, sending him straight toward a cliff band below. Somehow, McNutt stayed on his feet — a reminder that the backcountry can flip in an instant.

Respect the mountain. Read the snow. Move with awareness. Big lines demand big attention. Glad Nick skied away from this one.
