September 6th is National Read A Book Day! This day invites everyone to grab a book and spend the day reading. If you needed further encouragement, September is Library Card Sign-up Month!

For today, Channey letterpress printed a small woodcut from the Lewis Winter Collection. This cut was made in the 1890s and depicts a child sitting and reading a book. This was printed with purple oil base ink using our Washington hand press, which was made in 1852.

Speaking of books, our Museum Store is full of great books to learn about Sacramento and California history. Our Museum Store is open 10am to 4:30 everyday and we also have some books available on our website!
