💰 How I keep my private practice overhead LOW, usually around 30% most months 👇

One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned running an independent medical practice is that more revenue doesn’t necessarily mean more profit. Controlling overhead is just as important as increasing collections.

Here are some of the ways I’ve kept my practice lean and efficient:

🏢 Rent office space by the day instead of paying for days I’m not using.

👥 Keep staffing lean — just one medical assistant and one office manager to start.

🧾 Use a third-party biller instead of maintaining an entire in-house billing department.

🤖 Use an AI medical scribe to help with clinic notes, operative reports, and billing/coding.

🖥️ Use an affordable EMR like Tebra instead of paying for an expensive enterprise system.

⚖️ Develop revenue streams outside traditional insurance — including medical-legal work and selling products in the office.

📊 Use QuickBooks to keep bookkeeping organized and straightforward.

📈 Be selective with advertising — Google Ads is essentially the only advertising I pay for.

You don’t necessarily need a massive office, huge staff, or enormous overhead to build a successful private practice. Stay lean, embrace technology, control expenses, and maintain your independence. 💪
