🚨 No one is coming to save doctors.

It’s been 20 years since I graduated from medical school, and unfortunately, I’ve watched our healthcare system continue to get worse and worse.

💰 Healthcare costs keep going up.
😤 Patients seem increasingly dissatisfied with their healthcare experiences.
👨‍⚕️ And many doctors are becoming increasingly frustrated with the practice of medicine.

If we’re waiting for hospital systems, insurance companies, or the government to magically fix healthcare and improve physician job satisfaction, we may be waiting a long time. ⏳

At some point, you have to take control of your own career. 💪

For some doctors, that might mean:

🏥 Starting your own private practice
💻 Stepping back from clinical medicine and building a non-clinical side career
📣 Becoming more involved in advocacy and contacting lawmakers
💰 Dropping insurance altogether and moving toward a cash-pay or concierge model
⚖️ Finding a better balance between medicine and the rest of your life

The answer is going to look different for everyone.

But after 20 years in medicine, one thing has become pretty clear to me:

No one is coming to save you. Sometimes, you have to save yourself. 👊
