🏥 Hospital systems don’t always seem to value physicians as much as we would like. 👨‍⚕️

That’s a big reason why I decided to start my own private practice four years ago. 🚀

Was it daunting at first? Absolutely 😬

But if you made it through medical school and residency, you can learn how to run a business too. 🧠📈

And AI is making it easier than ever. 🤖

I currently use AI to help with:
📝 Office notes
🎙️ Dictation
💰 Coding and billing
📅 Patient scheduling

Because of the systems we’ve built, I can see up to 40 patients in a day with just:
👩‍⚕️ 1 medical assistant
🖥️ 1 front-desk employee

Our overhead is typically 30% or less. 💵 For perspective, overhead under 50% is generally considered very good for a medical practice. 📊

Private practice isn’t for everybody, but it can give you something that’s becoming increasingly difficult to find in medicine: independence. 🔑

✅ More control over my schedule ⏰
✅ More control over how I run my practice 🏢
✅ More opportunities to build additional revenue streams 💰📈

But most importantly, it allows me to take care of patients the way I think is best—not the way an administrator tells me to. 👨‍⚕️🤝

👉 As for dealing with insurance companies, I have focused heavily on sources of revenue outside of traditional commercial insurance (e.g. ASC ownership, selling products in the office, in-office pharmacy, consulting for companies, medical-legal / expert witness work including independent medical exams, etc.), which has more than made up for the cuts to reimbursement insurance companies try to make every year.
