🇨🇦 Welcome to Vancouver Island, Canada. A place with rugged coastlines, ancient rainforests, dramatic waterfalls, crystal-clear lakes, incredible wildlife, breathtaking sunsets, charming coastal towns, and some of the most spectacular scenery we’ve ever experienced. It’s even been called “the Hawaii of Canada” for its mild climate, lush vegetation, beautiful beaches, ocean scenery, and island lifestyle.

🏔️ From watching wild whales off the coast to hiking through lush temperate rainforest and exploring beaches that feel like they belong in a movie, this island is packed with bucket-list experiences.

🚢 It’s also a place that 99% of Americans never visit or only see for a few hours while stopping on a cruise. And honestly… we think they’re missing out BIG time.

🚗 How to get there:

We flew into Seattle, then made our way onto Vancouver Island using the ferry and rented a car to explore at our own pace. Having a car is definitely the best way to experience the island because some of the most incredible places are tucked far beyond the main towns.

Our stay at Best Western Nanaimo gave us the perfect home base for exploring the island. After long days of road-tripping, hiking, and chasing waterfalls, it was so nice to have a comfortable place to relax and recharge before heading out for another adventure.
