My setup & settings for shooting Football🫡

Ever wonder what settings I use to capture cinematic football footage? 👀

Here’s the exact setup behind these shots:

Camera: Sony FX3 — My go-to camera for shooting sports.

Lens: Sony 70-200mm f/4 + Laowa 10mm — The 70-200mm lets me get tight shots of the action, while the 10mm helps capture those wide, immersive perspectives.

Filter: Peter McKinnon Variable ND — Pretty much the only ND filter I need.

Picture Profile: S-Log3 — I’m almost always shooting in S-Log3 for the flexibility it gives me in color grading.

Frame Rate: 120fps — My favorite frame rate for slowing down fast football action and creating smooth cinematic shots.

ISO: 800 — Keeping it at the FX3’s base ISO gives me the cleanest possible image.

White Balance: 5,000K — Dialed in to keep the colors looking natural and consistent.

Shutter Speed: 1/250 — Double my frame rate to maintain natural-looking motion.

Swipe through to see the exact settings and how the footage looks before and after the final color grade.

If this was helpful, save it for your next shoot and send it to another sports creator. What camera settings should I break down next? 👀
