Last night she came downstairs after a full day of lectures, made tea, and told me about a lecturer she can’t stand.

It sounds so ordinary. 
It is so ordinary.

For years, “ordinary” was the thing I wanted most and thought we’d never get. 
A day where nothing was a battle. 
A kid who came downstairs without a fight in her.

I didn’t know back then that the fight wasn’t with her. 
It was with a nervous system trying to protect her the only way it knew how.

Save this for the days that still feel impossible.
