❗️Lewis Hamilton just pulled up to Monza in a Ferrari F40 that had driven only 69 km before being parked for more than three decades.

The car was originally driven from Ferrari’s Maranello factory to its owner’s home, then never started again, with Hamilton saying even the passenger door had never been opened.

He had been hunting for an F40 with both ultra-low mileage and a real story, and this might be about as untouched as they come.

When the car was gone through for recommissioning, Hamilton said almost everything still worked and very little actually needed replacing.

The wildest detail came when the engine was removed and they discovered the number “44” stamped on it, matching the race number he has carried throughout his F1 career.

Hamilton then brought the F40 to Monza for the Italian Grand Prix and stopped for photos on the circuit’s historic banking before heading into the paddock.

The shoot also echoed his now-iconic 2025 Ferrari arrival photos, except this time the F40 beside him was actually his.

Under the rear deck sits Ferrari’s 2.9-liter twin-turbo V8 making 478 hp, with a factory-rated top speed of 324 km/h, or roughly 201 mph.

Ferrari built roughly 1,300 F40s, but finding one with mileage and provenance like Hamilton’s puts it in a completely different category.

If you owned an F40 this original, would you preserve the mileage or drive it exactly the way it was built to be driven?

What are your thoughts? 🤔💭
