🏗️⚖️ Lifting 3.1 million pounds of other cranes in a massive engineering flex…

When German crane manufacturer Liebherr wanted to demonstrate the ultimate power of their flagship LR 13000 crawler crane, they created a historic “crane-on-crane” stack.

The LR 13000 hoisted a full LR 11350, which held an LR 1350, which held an LTR 1100—weighing a combined 3.1+ million pounds (heavier than three fully loaded Boeing 747s).

To pull off the lift at 94 percent of its rated limit, Liebherr positioned almost 3 million pounds of derrick ballast nearly 100 feet behind the tracks to act as a giant physics balance scale.

Once suspended, the massive LR 13000 rotated and crawled across the test yard while carrying the entire suspended stack.

It stands as one of the most incredible, breathtaking demonstrations of heavy machinery engineering and structural physics ever filmed.

If you had to operate heavy machinery on a job site, would you trust yourself at the controls of a 3,000-ton crawler crane?

What are your thoughts? 🤔💭
