The most powerful tool for a reactive dog…⤵️ A redirect command. The beauty of a command like “Let’s go!” said right before the moment of escalation is that it gives the dog a choice.  Turn with me and get a reward. Don’t turn with me and get corrected.  Basically, you are giving them an option to succeed. Since you are using a command that the dog knows, he should understand that the correction, or discomfort that happens os caused by his failure to respond to you, not his proximity to the other dog or distraction.
