Steve Jobs is remembered as one of the most influential figures in technology, but a private email he wrote near the end of his life offers a much more personal glimpse into his thinking.

On September 2, 2010, Jobs sent himself a short message reflecting on how much of his life depended on the work, ideas and creativity of other people.

Rather than portraying himself as entirely self-made, Jobs acknowledged the countless people behind everything from the food he ate and language he spoke to the technology he helped shape.
