## Caption

Did you know electric machines need to be calibrated from time to time? That's a big turn off for me. Plus, motors can die.

Pros:

1. It's a much lower maintenance constant-pull option.

2. Cheaper, by around $1000 or more.

3. No calibration required, uses gravity which is always the same!

4. No need to plug in! You can technically take it anywhere. I've strung outside on picnic tables, changed rooms, etc. Not limited to where an outlet is within reach.

Cons (kinda):

1. Takes more time: well, maybe an extra minute or so a racquet, which is nearly nothing for me personally.

2. Cheap ones can be mediocre. Nicer ones cost upwards of $600 and make a big difference (fixed clamps, more contact points, etc) vs butterfly clamps.

3. Consistency: this is kind of a myth. Consistent technique matters here. If you are clunky with how you drop the weight, this can be true. Otherwise, no.

Personally, I use the CS-150 by Tourna. It's totally silent as well 🤫
