Rescuers in China have restored the only road access to the core area of the mudslide-hit Gyirong Port in Xizang Autonomous Region on Wednesday, a week after the deadly mudslide. ⁣
Rescue teams, relief supplies and some rescue equipment have entered the core rescue area via the road, rescuers said.⁣
The deadly mudslide, which was triggered by the collapse of a high-altitude glacier on the Nepalese side of the border with China last Wednesday, has left at least 16 people dead and more than 500 others missing in Gyirong, according to the Xizang regional government.⁣
