Global temperature rise is set to cross 1.5°C, likely within the next few years, pushing climate risks and impacts to increasingly dangerous heights, unep warns.

Every fraction of a degree of warming matters - and the longer temperatures remain higher, the greater the risk of irreversible changes.

But urgent #ClimateAction now can still limit how high warming peaks, shorten the duration of the overshoot, and preserve the possibility of returning below 1.5°C as soon as possible.

Immediate and sustained cuts to greenhouse gas emissions, including methane, are essential to limit global warming, while adaptation can help cope with the impacts already underway.
