靠得太近，可能失去判斷；
站得太遠，又永遠無法觸及對方。

拆開來，「間」是誰也不肯縮短的那段距離；
「合」是木造接頭：兩塊木頭互相卡住，誰也沒有被釘住。

顧彥承、應知妤、柯亦均，大學同一個劍道社；
上了研究所，各在不同院館，一週見不到一次面。
三個科系，三套語彙，談的是同一件誰都不敢直說的事。

顧彥承擅長觀察、等待，總能看懂對手的下一步。
道場上，他看見了那個破綻。
他沒有打。
面對感情，他也一次又一次選擇留在原地。

有些錯過，不是因為不愛。
而是在最接近彼此的時候，沒有人先跨出那一步。

那年的花期只有九天。
劍道有一個詞叫殘心——打完之後不能鬆，要一直保持著。
可是如果那一刀從來沒有打出去，殘心要留到什麼時候。

這是一部關於青春、友情、愛情與「不作為」的短片。
獻給每一個曾經等待時機，最後卻只能看著對方離開的人。
