The LA Clippers reportedly feel “frustrated, upset, and have resentment” toward Kawhi Leonard after the NBA imposed only a $700,000 fine on the star forward in a major salary-cap circumvention case.

According to reporter Jake Fischer (via @bleacherreport), the organization feels Leonard got off lightly while the franchise absorbed the bulk of the historic punishment announced on September 2, 2026.

That penalty package included a $30 million fine for the team, the forfeiture of five first-round draft picks from 2029 through 2033, a one-year suspension for owner Steve Ballmer, and additional suspensions for top executives.

The league’s year-long investigation found that the Clippers improperly facilitated off-court endorsement deals for Leonard with business partners such as Aspiration, in violation of CBA rules.

The Clippers have strongly rejected the NBA’s findings as biased and vowed to challenge the sanctions.
