When I’m anxious, overwhelmed, grieving, or spending way too much time in my head, this is one of the simplest ways I know to come back into my body.

I actually have a reminder on my phone to stop and do this several times a day.

The practice is designed to help bring your heart and brain into greater coherence, so instead of your nervous system staying stuck in stress mode, you’re creating a few moments of calm and safety in your body.

And that matters.

Because when we’re stressed or anxious, our attention tends to move up into our heads.

We start thinking, anticipating, worrying, replaying. Grief can do this too. Sometimes we’re physically in one place while our mind and nervous system are somewhere else entirely.

This takes about 30–45 seconds.

I slow my breathing, bring my attention to my heart, and intentionally connect with a feeling like love, gratitude, compassion, or appreciation.

For me, it’s a little reset. I feel more grounded, more in my body, and more connected to my heart.

And when you practice it regularly, you get better at returning to that state. You create a little more space between you and the stress, which also makes it easier to hear yourself. To notice what you’re feeling. To access your intuition instead of trying to think your way through everything.

Especially during grief or periods of high stress, I think these tiny practices throughout the day can make a real difference.

You don’t need an hour. Sometimes you just need 30 seconds to come back to yourself. ❤️

Save this and try it with me.
