Russell Westbrook announced his retirement in early August…and he’s already pursuing something big.

Westbrook is planning to co-found a global basketball league. He’s joining Project B with an ownership stake, and plans to shape the league’s basketball strategy and lead strategic partnerships. His vision is for players to not just be players, but also shareholders and decisionmakers who have a SAY in the culture and dynamic of the game that’s being played.

Project B lauches in December 2026…a global, five-on-five league with six teams and 11-player rosters, with both men’s and women’s teams running simultaneously.
