In an appearance on Jay Shetty’s ‘On Purpose’ podcast in April, Noah Kahan opened up about the disappointment and embarrassment he felt after losing the Grammy for Best New Artist.

“I had built this thing up to be so f—ing important to me. And so it kind of made me feel like I had no purpose in the room. I felt like my purpose was no longer needed, and that was no one’s fault, and it was on me for putting all this stock into this award. But I didn’t feel cool, and then I lost… I was so sad,” the singer shared.

Today, a song born from one of Kahan’s more difficult nights is getting its own moment onstage. The songwriter performed “Orbiter” for guests during a special evening in his honor at the Grammy museum.
