The newest residents of Fred and Barbara Erb Discovery Trails are ready to spread their wings! 🦉
 
After spending time settling in behind the scenes, two burrowing owls are now exploring their new habitat, and they are already making a big impression on guests. 

Burrowing owls are unique in that they are diurnal, meaning they are awake during the day. They also nest underground instead of in the trees and communicate with a variety of calls instead of the traditional owl hoot.
