The Edmonton Oilers (yup, you guessed it) have signed former Ottawa Senators forward. Formenton was one of the five former World Junior players charged with sexual assault stemming from a high-profile 2018 incident, along with Carter Hart, Michael McLeod, Cal Foote, and Dillon Dube. ⁣

And why? Formenton – who hasn't played in NHL game in over five years – recorded just 23 points in Switzerland last season. The move makes so little sense on the ice, let alone off. 🫠⁣

Formenton is now the third player from the sexual assault case to receive a contract after the trial ended, along with forward Dillon Dube with the St. Louis Blues and goaltender Carter Hart with the Vegas Golden Knights. Why are we letting them play in the league? 🤮⁣
