65th Anniversary Message

On September 9, 2026, Sigma celebrates its 65th anniversary.
Our company was one of the last to enter an industry once so crowded with camera and lens manufacturers that a brand existed for almost every letter of the alphabet.

Over the decades, fierce competition and market shifts have forced many to withdraw. That Sigma has maintained its independence and continues operating to this day is entirely due to the generous support of everyone connected to us, for which we are deeply grateful.

First and foremost, I express my sincere thanks to our customers who use and love our products. Although we may have fallen short at times, your unwavering support has been our greatest source of strength. The feedback we received served as invaluable lessons that fueled our growth.

We are also profoundly grateful to our dealers, business partners, suppliers, and local communities for their many years of support and encouragement. Sigma exists today because it has been nurtured and supported by so many of you.
Guided by the philosophy of our founder, Michihiro Yamaki—""For Happy Moments,"" reflecting his belief that photography accompanies people in me moments of happiness—we have strived to create products that are high in quality, innovative, original, and beautiful.

None of this was ever easy, but we feel we have been guided here by the sheer fascination of photography and filmmaking. Working within a field so deeply rooted in culture and art makes us feel truly fortunate.

While technological innovations continue to transform photography and video, their core significance has become even more vital to humanity.

As we look ahead, we will continue our daily efforts while reflecting on the role Sigma should play, and how we can contribute to the development of visual culture, social peace, and human happiness.
