Today, we honor and celebrate the birthday of Marsha P. Johnson. ❤️🏳️‍⚧️

Born on August 24, 1945, Marsha was a Black transgender activist, community organizer, and a powerful force in the fight for LGBTQ+ liberation. Her life reminds us that our movements have always been built by people who cared for one another, challenged systems that harmed our communities, and refused to leave the most marginalized behind.

At SisTers PGH, we carry that legacy forward by continuing to build what our communities deserve. Safe spaces. Housing. Resources. Leadership development. Community care. Opportunities to rest, grow, organize, and live fully.

We know that the work of liberation did not begin with us, and it will not end with us. We are building on the foundation laid by Marsha and so many Black and Brown trans people who came before us.

Today, we say Happy Birthday, Marsha P. Johnson. 💐

Thank you for helping to show generations of us what it means to fight, care for each other, and keep building.

We are still here. We are still fighting. And we are still building. 🏳️‍⚧️✊🏾
