Dyson just launched a $499 toothbrush with a camera in the brush head.

The Dyson CameraJet is built around a tiny 100,000-pixel macro camera and an AI system called Gap Optical Targeting. As you brush, it analyzes 28 live images per second, spots the gaps between your teeth, and fires a short burst of mouthrinse into those spaces within about 100 milliseconds. The idea is simple: floss while you brush, instead of treating them as two separate habits.

You can also open the MyDyson app and watch a live feed from inside your mouth while it works. When you put the brush back on the dock, the 12.5ml tank refills in a few seconds. Dyson even recommends non-foaming toothpaste so the camera can actually see what it’s targeting.

It is still a luxury gadget. A regular electric toothbrush does the brushing part for a fraction of the price. What Dyson is selling here is the camera-plus-jet combo, and the bet that most people skip flossing more than they skip brushing.

Would you pay $499 for a toothbrush that tries to floss for you?
