Sir Paul Smith started with a tiny shop in Nottingham in 1970. More than 50 years later, his name is recognised around the world.

But what I loved most about Paul is him. You can’t not love him.

At 80 years old, he is curious, mischievous, completely himself and still obsessed with what he does.

There’s a huge lesson in that. You can build something enormous and still be totally yourself. Never change for anyone.

Sir Paul’s new book, Threads tells the story of his extraordinary career through the things that have inspired him along the way.
