Kawhi Leonard has a 95% chance of joining the Toronto Raptors on kalshi

The blockbuster trade sending Kawhi back to the Toronto Raptors is officially pushing forward and the franchise has zero intention of letting him walk away anytime soon. Following the league’s historic disciplinary ruling against the Clippers, league insider Shams confirmed on The Pat McAfee Show that both organizations have re-engaged in active talks with every intention of finalizing the mega deal. With Leonard openly declaring his focus on returning to Toronto with a completely clean slate, the Raptors are preparing a significant multi-year contract extension to lock down Kawhi, rather than treating his legendary homecoming as a simple one-year rental.

This seismic agreement serves as an absolute financial and competitive lifeline for the Clippers after the league office decimated their future by stripping five first-round picks and handing Steve Ballmer a record 30 million dollar fine. In exchange for their franchise superstar, Los Angeles will recoup a massive haul headlined by Brandon Ingram, young sharpshooter Gradey Dick, first-round picks in 2031 and 2033, multiple second-round picks, and a 2027 pick swap. While the Clippers prepare to legally challenge the league’s circumvention penalties, getting premium draft capital and established scoring back into the building gives them an unexpected blueprint to survive their front-office crisis.

For Toronto, committing long-term money to a veteran superstar entering the final year of his existing contract is an aggressive championship gamble. The city has revered Kawhi ever since his unforgettable 2019 title run, and pairing his elite two-way playoff pedigree alongside Scottie Barnes instantly re-establishes the Raptors as a legitimate powerhouse in the Eastern Conference. If Leonard stays healthy and can summon that same postseason magic up North, this audacious reunion could write one of the greatest second chapters in basketball history. Is extending him the right move or a dangerous risk?
