Congress & Vande Matram :Even Faruq Abdullah stood up and listened to the full rendition of *Vande Mataram*, yet the Congress Party still does not wish to sing the song in its entirety.
The government desires that *Vande Mataram* be sung in full out of respect, but the Congress still prefers to adhere to its 1937 resolution, which stipulated that the party would not sing the national song *Vande Mataram* in its entirety at any event.
In fact, back in 1937, Muhammad Ali Jinnah and the Muslim League had opposed *Vande Mataram* because certain parts of the song contain Hindu religious imagery and references to the Goddess Durga.
Amidst these objections raised by Jinnah and the Muslim League, the Congress passed a resolution in 1937 stating that only the first two stanzas of *Vande Mataram* would be sung at national gatherings. Even today, as we approach the 80th year of independence, the Congress remains steadfast in that decision.
This issue has recently gained traction because, just a few days ago, the government passed a bill to accord *Vande Mataram* the same legal protection and respect as the national anthem, *Jana Gana Mana*.
Yet, the Congress still refuses to sing the full version of *Vande Mataram*—a song that symbolized the spirit of the revolutionaries during the freedom struggle.
Regardless of the reasons the Congress might cite for this, we all know the actual reason. ( Vande Matram, Congress , Faruq Abdullah , Umar Abdullah , Vande Matram Full Version , Mohd Ali Jinnah , 1937 Resolution Congress ) #vandematram🇮🇳 #congress
