## Caption

🪵 Artist Li Hongbo carves dense blocks of glued paper sheets into forms that look exactly like timber logs, bark and all. Lift one end and the whole piece unfolds into a cascading honeycomb ribbon. The technique comes from a Chinese folk toy tradition called the paper gourd, which uses the same honeycomb structure. This piece was shown at the 2025 Sydney art fair by Redbase Art.
