Again this year, Detroit Parks & Recreation will be part of “Strides for Seniors Walk & Expo” being held on Friday, September 21 from 9 AM to 1 PM at Palmer Park.  Spearheaded by Detroit Area Agency on Aging – we are one of the 14 neighborhood senior centers being showcased at the event.  Throughout September, National Senior Center Month, we are planning to highlight all the services we provide and encourage people to get involved.

We are hoping to get our members, friends and supporters to organize a walk team and experience one of Detroit’s most beautiful places!  There’s also a hustle dance option which begins at 11 AM.  Registration of $25 includes a t-shirt and lunch ticket.  The Expo is free with many senior related service providers having information booths and giveaways.

Part of the proceeds from each registered walker or dancer – plus ALL of the pledges we collect – will go directly to support Detroit Parks & Recreation - Recreation Center(s).
