Galveston’s mural collection is getting a new addition, and this one tells a story that reaches all the way to Spain.

Work is underway at 27th & Seawall on a new mural celebrating the connection between Galveston and Málaga, Spain. Galveston was named for Bernardo de Gálvez, and the mural honors that shared history as part of America’s 250th anniversary.

Created by Málaga-based artist Eduardo Luque Puertas, known as “Lalone,” the mural will be completed in time for Galveston Loves Málaga: An International Celebration of Art in the Parks.
