Second chances begin with the right support at the right time.

Second Chance Center helps people impacted by the justice system rebuild their lives through comprehensive reentry services that promote recovery, stability, and long-term success. Grounded in the expertise of people with lived experience, SCC combines peer support, behavioral health navigation, and practical resources to help individuals address barriers, strengthen their well-being, and successfully transition into their communities.

With support from Caring for Denver, Second Chance Center provides behavioral health navigation and peer support services to Denver residents through two key service locations: Second Chance Center in the City (SCCIC) in Denver and SCC's Potomac location in Aurora.

At SCCIC, individuals transitioning from the Denver Downtown Detention Center and Denver County Jail can connect with support during a particularly vulnerable point in the reentry process. At Potomac, Denver residents can access behavioral health navigation, peer support, and comprehensive reentry services in the community. Across both locations, SCC helps individuals identify behavioral health and substance misuse needs, connect to appropriate treatment and community-based care, and build trusted relationships with peers who understand the challenges of reentry and recovery. Participants can also access SCC's broader continuum of services, including housing and employment assistance, benefits navigation, mentoring, and other individualized resources that address the interconnected barriers to recovery and long-term stability.

By combining lived experience, trusted peer relationships, behavioral health support, and coordinated reentry services, Second Chance Center is helping Denver residents strengthen their recovery, build stability, and create successful futures beyond incarceration.
