A national treasure getting the recognition he deserves ❤️👏

Sir David Attenborough has won the TV Presenter award at the 2026 National Television Awards at the age of 100.

The legendary broadcaster came out on top in a category featuring Alison Hammond, Ant and Dec, Claudia Winkleman and Stacey Solomon. Sir David was unable to attend the ceremony at London's O2, with his acceptance speech instead read on his behalf.

In his message, Sir David used the moment to highlight the importance of protecting the planet, saying: “Humanity has always needed the natural world for all the practicalities of life and for our mental wellbeing. Now the natural world needs us too.”

He also explained that while major national and international action is needed, people can still make a difference within their own communities, with smaller individual efforts adding up to something significant.

Sir David began his presenting career with Zoo Quest in 1954 and has since become one of the world's most recognisable natural history broadcasters, presenting landmark programmes including The Blue Planet, Planet Earth and Frozen Planet.

At 100 years old, he's still using his platform to fight for the natural world 🌍❤️
