Heathrow passengers have been hit with major disruption after a technical issue with air traffic control 😬✈️

Departures from Heathrow were temporarily grounded on Tuesday (8 September) after NATS, which provides air traffic control services across the UK, reported an issue with its flight processing system.

Flights later began departing again, but passengers have faced delays as airports and airlines work through the disruption. Other UK airports, including Gatwick, Stansted and Manchester, have also reported issues.

NATS said UK airspace remained open and warned it would “take some time” for operations to fully recover.

Passengers due to fly have been advised to check the latest information directly with their airline before travelling.
