Oil has topped US$100 a barrel again as the war on Iran intensifies. Global inflation is forecast to reach 4.7% in 2026, up from 4.1% last year, as the promised return to stable prices stalls.

For oil and gas corporations, chaos can mean obscene profits. For everyone else, it means pricier food, transport and energy, deeper inequality, and more fear about what comes next.

People need peace, safety, and leaders with a moral compass who make rational decisions to protect them, not more wars and fossil-fuelled crises.

Governments must make oil and gas companies profiting from war pay their fair share, then invest that money in modern, decentralised renewable energy systems.

Locally owned clean power can offer more stable bills, real autonomy, and protection from future geopolitical shocks.
