The most dangerous lie we tell ourselves is, “I’ll do it later.”

Later, when work is quieter. Later, when we have more energy. Later, when the timing feels better.

Working in emergency medicine has shown me how quickly “later” can disappear. It has also shown me that knowing this does not stop us from putting life off.

Call them. Visit. Say what you mean. Make time while life is still ordinary.
