In light of the recent Wasian Generation article, I wanted to share this clip about colorism in Taiwan/America.
The conversation around “Wasian” identity has brought a lot of attention to beauty standards, proximity to whiteness, and which kinds of Asian identities are considered desirable or “acceptable.” Both blasiantw and I are Blasian, and we have felt the ramifications of colorism within our own identities not just in Taiwan and America but throughout Asia and the rest of the world as well.
