Your body doesn’t deserve another to do-list, it deserves a freaking love letter! 💌

How to write your body a scrumptious love letter…

1. Pick a body part to love on. If you closed your eyes and scanned your body from head to toe, is there a part that would light up or speak to you in some way? Maybe that part is asking for your attention. Sometimes it’s easier to choose a body part we can see or use frequently—hands, feet, eyes, ears, tongue. Maybe you choose a body part that has been particularly feisty, inflamed, struggling— just to change the relationship for a brief moment.

2. Once you’ve got a body part in mind— bring some gentle movement, attention, and breath towards that part. Let’s exist within our body language for a moment, before we jump to literal “thank you” words.

3. Writing time! Choose the love letter length that meets your actual capacity! I’m speaking to you, my burnt-out baddies. Your note doesn’t have to be an elaborate Shakespearean soliloquy. It can be the length of a cute text, postcard, one page in a journal, a scribble in the corner, a drawing, or a doodle with a “thank you” on it. You have options, choose the EASY one.

4. Grab the nearest or dearest writing utensil. Find the designated page space for your love letter length.

5. Write, Draw—make tangible reality on paper. This is crucial. What we write with our hands and see with our eyes imprints on our brain more effectively than speaking internally to ourselves.

6. And there you have it! A love letter for your body…

Bonus: Put on a song that captures this love letter vibe. Move, groove, feel, sing. Maybe even read your love letter out loud?? It’s all up to you. Give yourself some dopamine for doing this love letter process!
