Cal ignited its 2026 season in front of a sold-out Memorial Stadium crowd against UCLA. With a mountain of expectations in front of them, the Bears fell 45-24 in the season opener.

Although the Bears’ return to Strawberry Creek ended in a loss, they have the opportunity to reframe their season on the road against Syracuse on Sept. 12.
