Why Sky Dancers Circle?

The name emerged from three inspirations within Tibetan Buddhism: the ḍākinī, the view of emptiness and the practice of sky-gazing in Dzogchen.

The word ḍākinī is often translated as “sky dancer.” For me, this evokes a wisdom that is spacious, intuitive and courageous... a way of moving through life without being confined by fixed identities or expectations.

Emptiness does not mean that nothing exists. It points to the openness and interdependence of everything. Like the sky, awareness can hold clouds, rain, sunlight and storms without being limited by any of them.

In Dzogchen, sky-gazing can be used as a support for recognising the open, lucid quality of awareness. We are not trying to force the mind to become empty. We are learning to rest without grasping.

And finally, the circle represents community.

Meditation may begin as a personal practice, but it is nourished by teachers, lineage, friendship and shared intention. Through skydancerscircle , I hope to create spaces for meditation, reflection and connection, beginning with in-person sessions in Stockholm.

This name is an aspiration: to practise with openness, courage, compassion and freedom.

The Sky is Open.
