The SC400 is the cheapest way to own a hand-built Toyota V8 and the only reason it's still cheap is that the SC300 crowd hogged the internet with a slower engine. Say it louder. I'll die on this hill.

People buy the SC300 for a 2JZ-GE they're going to swap out anyway. Meanwhile the 1UZ-FE sitting in the 400 is a 4.0 quad-cam alloy V8 that Toyota over-engineered on purpose — 250hp early cars, 290 once VVT-i showed up in '98, and a reputation for going 300k without opening it up. It's the same motor people yank out of these and drop into 240s, Hiluxes, and boats. You can just… buy the car it came in.

The Z30 body has aged better than anything Lexus has built since, double wishbones at all four corners, and 5x114.3 on a 60.1 bore — which means the wheel catalog is basically the entire JDM aftermarket, not some cursed three-page filter. Get the ride height right and a deep-lip three piece under those fenders is the whole build.

The drift and stance guys already priced these in. Clean unmolested ones are drying up while everyone argues about Soarer imports.
