And early testers are already building things that previous models struggled to reach.

OpenAI released it to a limited group of organizations first, with paid ChatGPT access rolling out over the following days.

Matthew Berman tested Astra across games, coding, writing, and browser control.

His verdict:

“This is the best model I’ve ever used. Period.”

With just two prompts, Astra built a playable Fall Guys-style game that he described as genuinely fun.

Another tester created an interactive Death Star model in a single 26-minute run.

OpenAI’s own demos showed:

A circuit board designed in under three minutes.

An eBay listing created through voice.

A research task completed in 5 minutes and 27 seconds against a 30-minute human baseline.

A job search completed in 2 minutes and 51 seconds against a five-hour baseline.

But there is important context.

Those performance numbers come from company demos, not independent benchmarks.

Greg Brockman called this the beginning of the AGI era.

At the same time, ARC Prize found that Astra’s 99.9% ARC-AGI-3 score drops to 66% on the standard setup.

So this is not a final verdict.

It is an early signal.

The latest models are moving beyond answering questions.

They are starting to build, research, browse, and operate across entire workflows.

And the next wave could be even more significant.
