Today’s word comes from Matthew 9:18-26:

This passage tells the story of two people from very different circumstances. One was the daughter of an important leader, while the other was a woman who had been suffering and dealt with disease for twelve years. Their lives may have looked completely different, but they both needed the same thing: Jesus.

The woman believed that if she could just touch the edge of Jesus’ clothing, she would be healed. She didn’t allow her situation, her struggles, or what others may have thought about her to stop her from reaching toward Him. Jesus told her, “Your faith has healed you.”

The leader was also facing a situation that looked impossible. His daughter had died, but he still came to Jesus believing that He had the power to restore her. Even when the people around them laughed, Jesus entered the room, took her by the hand, and she got up.

This passage reminds us that God’s care is not determined by your money, your status, your background, or what you’re currently going through. Whether you seem to have everything or feel like you have nothing, you still need faith.

God does not only show up for certain types of people. He sees the person everyone knows, and He sees the person everyone has overlooked. No matter where you are in life, keep turning toward Him.

Your situation may look impossible, but faith means believing that Jesus still has the final say.
