Before the first tee. Before the final putt. Before a champion is crowned, there is St. Augustine.

2025 St. Augustine Amateur Champion Adam Vermut is taking the tournament’s iconic Conquistador helmet on a journey through America’s Oldest City, visiting some of the places that make St. Augustine unlike anywhere else.

Stop 01: The Old City Gates

For centuries, these gates have welcomed people into St. Augustine. Today, they mark the beginning of a different journey as our defending champion carries a piece of tournament tradition through the city we are proud to call home.

Over the coming weeks, follow Adam and the helmet through eight historic St. Augustine stops as we count down to the 2026 St. Augustine Amateur.
