I’ve realized that a mother’s experience of motherhood is shaped not only by how much she loves her children, but also by who she has beside her while raising them.
And I think about this a lot when I look at us.
He doesn’t “help me with the babies”.
He is their father.
He is fully involved in their little lives — in the routines, the sleepless nights, the cuddles, the difficult moments, the laughter, the endless little things that come with raising two babies.
And at the same time, he has always respected the kind of mother I want to be.
He never made me feel that I was too attached, too protective or too available to them. He never made me feel guilty for being the person they sometimes need most.
Instead, he became just as present, while giving me the freedom to be present too.
And I honestly think there is something very powerful about that.
Because when a woman feels supported instead of judged, accompanied instead of alone, she has so much more room to enjoy her children.
So yes, if you see a mother genuinely enjoying her motherhood, there might just be a very involved father somewhere in the picture.
One who isn’t standing on the sidelines.
One who is right there in the middle of it all. 🤍
