Arizona has another restaurant sitting at No. 1 on a national Yelp list.

Pinyon Coastal Mediterranean in Old Town Scottsdale was ranked the No. 1 Mediterranean restaurant in the U.S. on Yelp Elites’ 2026 list of restaurants “worth the epic journey.” It was also the only Arizona restaurant to make the national list. 

Pinyon sits along Scottsdale Civic Center Park and opened less than a year before receiving the recognition. The restaurant specializes in coastal Mediterranean food, with a menu featuring house-made pita and hummus, seafood, raw-bar selections and other dishes inspired by cuisines across the Mediterranean. 

The ranking was based on reviews and recommendations from Yelp Elite members, a group of highly active reviewers on the platform.

And somehow this isn’t even Arizona’s first No. 1 Yelp food ranking of 2026.

Earlier this year, Phoenix’s Little Miss BBQ was ranked No. 1 in the country for barbecue by Yelp Elite reviewers. Gilbert’s Caldwell County BBQ also cracked the national top 10 at No. 8. 

So Arizona now has Yelp’s No. 1 Mediterranean restaurant and No. 1 barbecue restaurant in the country on two separate 2026 rankings.
