A Scottsdale condo owner found out someone was allegedly trying to sell his $1.3 million property without his knowledge. The person accused of doing it just happened to have the exact same first and last name.

Police say 26-year-old Nathan Lucas Underwood broke into a luxury Scottsdale condo owned by a Nebraska resident who spends part of the year in Arizona, then allegedly attempted to put the property up for sale.

According to court documents, Underwood met with a realtor inside the condo and claimed he had acquired the company that owned it. The realtor reportedly became suspicious after noticing several things that did not add up, including Underwood parking in a guest area, providing incorrect information about the company and never asking about the realtor’s commission.

Meanwhile, the actual owner realized something was wrong after his cleaning crew was unable to retrieve a spare key. He later received paperwork from a title company asking whether he was selling the condo.

He wasn’t.

The owner flew to Arizona and reportedly discovered around $14,000 worth of clothing and decorative items were also missing from the property.

Police say the realtor later identified Underwood in a photo lineup. He was arrested July 27 and accused of burglary, aggravated identity theft and fraudulent schemes. His bond was set at $10,000. He has been accused, not convicted.

Trying to sell someone else’s $1.3 million Scottsdale condo is already crazy, but having the same first AND last name as the actual owner makes this story even wilder.
